May 21 (Sunday): Bangkok
Golden and glittering temples abound in amazing Bangkok, capital city of The Kingdom of Thailand. One of Asia's most dynamic and vibrant cities, Thailand's unique culture, charm, and renowned Thai hospitality are evident from the moment you arrive.
Full-day Bangkok sightseeing
The Royal Grand Palace is the nation’s most praised landmark. Wat Phra Kaew is well known for its Golden Chedi, Pantheon of the Chakri Kings, and its Eight Colored Tower. Wat Pho is regarded as the first center of public education and is sometimes called ‘Thailand’s first university’. It is considered to be home of Thai traditional massages. Experience an afternoon trip along the bustling Chao Phya River and the quiet Klong (canals) in a long tail boat. We will bring you to a more traditional and serene way of living around Thonburi residential areas, away from all the skyscrapers and modern buildings of Bangkok City Center. We will also stop by the “Temple of Dawn” (officially named Wat Arun). Finally, a visit to the Flower and Vegetable market to round off this day. Located close to the Chao Phraya River, the place pictures a rural piece of Bangkok where a vast selection of all kinds of flowers can be found. Observe how the merchants create beautiful flower garlands. This Bangkok day tour ends at the Golden Mountain.
The tour includes lunch at the Supatra River House.
Evening Welcome Dinner
Enjoy a fun, welcome dinner at the hotel’s Mexicano Restaurant. For more than two decades diners have enjoyed the best Mexican cuisine in Bangkok at the Rembrandt Hotel. Renamed Mexicano, the tradition continues at our restaurant with a heightened focus on authenticity, fun and friendliness. We continue to bring you Mexican chefs, musicians and the largest selection of tequilas in Thailand, plus the authentic aromas and tastes of Mexico.

Full-day Excursion to Ayutthaya
Visit the former capital of Thailand, Ayutthaya, situated approximately 75 kilometers north of Bangkok and which is one of those destinations you have to see. The mix of cultures in Ayutthaya began in the mid-16th century when ships from Ayutthaya plied the Asian seas, trading with neighboring countries. When the Dutch showed up in the 17th century, Ayutthaya became a port city and trade routes were extended to China, Japan, Indonesia, Portugal, Holland and France and even up to the Scandinavian countries later. Although the ancient villages of foreign traders lining on the Chao Phraya riverbanks were abandoned when the city was sacked by Burmese troops in 1767, some remnants have survived and now showcase the city’s past glory. The tour will start at the Summer Palace of the late King Rama V, commonly known as “Bang Pa-In”. You will then continue to the magnificent ruins of early splendor that Ayutthaya is famous for all over the world. We will pass or visit all the most impressive ruins of this World Heritage Site. We will eventually return to Bangkok by cruising down the Chao Phraya River on a comfortable, air-conditioned cruise ship, while enjoying a sumptuous buffet lunch on board. Upon arrival at the disembarkation point in Bangkok in the late afternoon, we will transfer you back to your hotel.

Preserved in the same condition as during his life, it may be viewed through the windows.
Continue to the miniature 11th century One Pillar Pagoda which was rebuilt after being destroyed by the French in 1954, and then to the Temple of Literature with its walled courtyards and graceful gateways. Founded in 1070 and dedicated to Confucius, this was also the site of Vietnam's first university. Afterwards head to the Museum of Ethnology (closed Mondays and during Vietnam New Year). This museum showcases art, traditional clothing and reconstructions of traditional longhouses from 54 different ethnic groups.
In the afternoon, visit Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple which contains an islet with the tiny Tortoise Pagoda. Along the way pass by other colonial landmarks such as the magnificent Opera House (may be seen from the outside only) and St Joseph's Cathedral.
Day 3: Halong Bay (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Halong Bay Overnight Cruise
Leaving Hanoi early this morning, you will be driven to Halong City, a journey time of approximately 3.5 hours. On arrival, you will transfer to a junk (a traditional Chinese style sailing ship) for your cruise on Halong Bay. Sailing through emerald waters and past rocky islets and lush islands, a delicious lunch will be served on board.
Halong Bay is blessed with numerous grottoes, hidden pools and mystical islands and this afternoon, there will be the opportunity to disembark the boat and explore the region further. Off-boat excursions are usually by ship’s tender although often there is the opportunity to discover the beautiful landscapes of the bay by kayak or bamboo rowing boat. Visits to nearby caves or sandy beaches may also be on the agenda and of course there is always the option to remain on board and take in the glorious vista from the spacious sundeck.
As night falls, the boat will drop anchor in a peaceful spot. Enjoy a refreshing drink and the view from the sundeck before sitting down to a leisurely dinner that will either be served on deck or inside the dining room depending on the vessel and local weather conditions.
Day 4: Halong Bay to Saigon (Breakfast)
Fly to Saigon
Your cruise will return to port in the late morning. Transfer by vehicle directly to Hanoi Noi Bai Airport for your flight to Saigon (air ticket included). Upon arrival your guide will be waiting to greet you and take you by private vehicle to your hotel.
Day 5: Saigon (Breakfast)
Excursion to the Cu Chi Tunnels (5.5 hours)
Never discovered by American forces, the Cu Chi Tunnels were an important Vietcong base during the American War. Stretching over 200 km, this incredible underground network, dug by hand out of hard laterite, connected command posts, hospitals, shelter and weapons factories. Today, walk through the area and learn about the day to day life of the Vietcong, bear witness to the cleverly disguised entrances and elaborate booby-traps, and even venture inside the tunnels, some of which have been modified to accommodate tourists.
Day 6: Saigon (Breakfast)
Morning Saigon sightseeing
A vibrant metropolis, Saigon teems with energy, activity and motion. Nearly everywhere there is a fascinating juxtaposition between traditional and modern life. The emerging modern skyline stands toe to toe with colonial buildings and traditional temples. Outside on the streets, young professionals zip by on motorbikes, chatting on cell phones; inside the quiet temple courtyards, worshippers pray amidst clouds of incense.
Visit the Reunification Palace, the Independence Palace of the South Vietnamese president that was stormed by tanks on the 30th April 1975, signifying the fall of South Vietnam. It has been preserved in its original state. Next see the Notre Dame Cathedral, built between 1877 and 1883 and set in the heart of Saigon's government quarter. It has a neo-Romanesque form and two high square towers tipped with iron spires. In front of the cathedral is a statue of the Virgin Mary. Continue to the Central Post Office, a French-style building with a glass canopy and iron frame right next to the Notre Dame Cathedral. The structure was built between 1886 and 1891 and is by far the largest post office in Vietnam. Finish the tour at City Hall, also known as Hotel de Ville, it was completed in 1908 and is at the northern end of Nguyen Hue Boulevard. With it's ornate gingerbread facade it looks like the town hall of a French town. It is viewable from outside only.

Day 2: Siem Reap (Breakfast)
Full-day sightseeing in Angkor
Angkor Wat
The crowning jewel of Khmer architecture, Angkor Wat is the national symbol and the highlight of any visit to Cambodia. The largest, best preserved, and most religiously significant of the Angkor temples, Angkor impresses visitors both by its sheer scale and beautifully proportioned layout, as well as the delicate artistry of its carvings. To approach the temple, first cross the vast moat, continuing along a broad causeway lined with naga balustrades. After entering the main building, ascend through a series of galleries and courtyards before reaching the central sanctuary, which offers beautiful views back over the causeway and across the surrounding countryside. On the way, stop to enjoy the intricate stone carvings that adorn nearly every surface, with some 1,700 Apsaras, or celestial dancers, sculpted into the walls. Along the outer gallery walls run the longest continuous bas-relief in the world, which narrates stories from Hindu mythology, including the famous Churning of the Ocean of Milk. Angkor Wat is stunning at any time of the day, but sunrise and sunset are especially beautiful times to watch the play of light on the stones.
Angkor Thom
The fortified city of Angkor Thom covers an area of 10 square km. Enclosed by a wall and wide moats, the city includes many of Angkor's most popular sights. Enter by the monumental South Gate over a causeway lined on either side by statues of demons and gods, each carrying a giant naga. Continue to the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper Kings, former spaces for public ceremonies, both adorned with dramatic bas reliefs. Visit the ruined Baphuon, Royal Enclosure and Phimeanakas before continuing to the mysterious Bayon Temple. In this temple, one of the most popular and compelling in Angkor, explore the galleries of beautifully preserved bas reliefs and ascend narrow stairs to reach the central sanctuary, where you will find giant stone faces smiling enigmatically down at you from every angle.
Ta Prohm
Visit Ta Prohm, one of the most popular attractions of Angkor as much of the jungle has not been cleared and it looks very much as most of the Angkor monuments would have appeared when European explorers first stumbled across them.
Sunset Viewing
Watch the sunset over the Cambodian countryside from the upper terraces of an ancient Angkorian temple.
Day 3: Siem Reap (Breakfast)
Quad Bike excursion in the Cambodian countryside
